2016 CHASEBURG-COON VALLEY BLUES ROSTER & BIOS

Gorey Geary… 9th season… Infielder, Right-Handed Pitcher… Aquinas High School… Graduate of UW-La Crosse where he was their starting shortstop… “Mr. Smooth” in the infield… After an injury in 2014, Cory returned full-time in 2015 and again anchored the infield from his shortstop position. Finished 2nd on the team with 107 at bats… The Blues look to him as a leader this year.

Ben Levendoski… 8th season… Head Coach/Infielder… De Soto High School… Graduate of UW-La Crosse… The only player on the present roster that has played every position in the field… Ben had only 79 at bats in 2015, as he assumed more coaching duties and he will be the Blues Head Coach this season… May see some playing time depending on the roster numbers.

Kyle Servais… 7th season… Catcher… Westby High School… Graduate of Winona Saint Mary’s and was the starting catcher his senior season… Has been the Blues starting catcher the past 3 years and had another strong year in 2015, with 105 at bats… He finished with a BA of .314 and 25 rbi’s… Has a strong arm and will again anchor the catching position in 2016.

Jeff Raasch… 6th season… Outfielder… Westby High School… Graduate of Western Technical College with a criminal justice degree… Had limited playing time in 2015, due to work commitments, but still finished with a BA of .318… A solid outfielder.

Clay Gale… 2nd season… Catcher… La Crosse Central High School… 2014 First Team All-Conference and played on Central’s Mississippi Valley Conference Championship team… Currently a sophomore at UW-Stout and is playing baseball there… Had a strong first season with CCV, finishing with a BA of .314 with 70 at bats… A solid catcher and has given the Blues depth at the position.

Ben Faga… 2nd season… Right-Handed Pitcher/Infielder… La Crosse Central High School… Four-time letter winner… Honorable Mention All-Mississippi Valley Conference sophomore year... First Team All-Mississippi Valley Conference junior year... MVC Player of the Year as a junior... Second Team All-MVC as a senior... First Team All-District and First Team All-State junior year... A sophomore at UW-Stevens Point and playing baseball… Had arm problems this spring and may not be able to pitch, but will provide depth at other positions.

Bobby Juan… 2nd season… Outfielder/Right-Handed Pitcher… La Crosse Central High School… Named the Gatorade and Louisville Slugger State Player of the Year for the state of Wisconsin, and was also a Third-Team ABCA All-American… Was a three-time All-State, All-Area and All-Conference honoree… His senior year, he batted .603 with 14 home runs and 44 RBI in only 28 games. Played 4 years at the University of Minnesota… Had a great first season for the Blues, leading the team with a BA of .406 with 106 at bats. Also led CCV with 34 rbi’s and 12 doubles and tied for second with 3 HR’s… Was an important part of the Blues pitching rotation and closer, pitching 45 innings and finishing with 6 wins, 2 saves and a 2.20 era… His strong arm and bat will again be an important part of the 2016 team.

Alex Robson… 2nd season… Infielder…Westby Area High School… Graduated 2014… 2 year starter WAHS… 3 year starter Westby American Legion Baseball…First Team All Conference 2014… 2 year letterwinner WAHS… Alex attends UW-La Crosse and is playing baseball… Had a strong first year with CCV, finishing the season with a BA of .372 with 78 at bats… Provides versatility in the infield, able to play multiple positions… Looks forward to continuing his strong play in 2016.

Kody Larson… 2nd season… Catcher/Right-Handed Pitcher/Infielder… De Soto High School… 2013 WBCA District III All District First Team and WBCA All-State Honorable Mention with a .493 BA… All-Conference along with being selected two-time player/pitcher of the year… Currently attending Southwest Minnesota State University and playing baseball… Kody had limited AB’s in 2015, joining the Blues mid-season… Looking forward to a strong 2016 season.

Mitchell Larson… 2nd season… Right-Handed Pitcher/Infielder…Westby Area High School… 3 year varsity starter… First Team All-Conference 2013 & 2014… First Team All-District Infielder 2014…Selected to play in the WBCA All-Star Classic 2014… Also played with Westby/Coon Valley American Legion… Mitch had limited playing time in 2015 as he was serving with the Wisconsin National guard and did not join the team until the later part of the season… Will play full time in 2016 and will provide versatility on the mound and in the infield.

Damian Wiblin… 1st season… Left-Handed Pitcher/Outfield… La Crosse Logan High School… 2015 graduate of UW-Superior where he also played baseball… Should see plenty of action, both on the mound and in the outfield.

Jensen Hinton… 1st season… Catcher/Other… La Crosse Logan High School… Freshman at UW-Oshkosh and playing baseball there… Will also play with La Crosse Northstars Legion team this summer… Very versatile and can play multiple positions.
